Warrington Wolves, in association with SquadBuilder, are now the proud owners of several Watt Bikes and SkiErgs.
This new equipment will allow players to train at high intensities to maintain, and even improve, fitness levels when running and when traditional conditioning methods are not an option because of injury.
SquadBuilder continue to play a huge part in the development of the players progressing through the club’s academy system. They invest not only time but also money to ensure the young players have the experiences and equipment needed for them to make the transition into the first grade, whilst also supporting the current first team players.
Gareth Whittaker, Wolves’ head of junior strength and conditioning, said: “On behalf of the performance team I would like to personally thank SquadBuilder for their financial support in the purchasing of Watt Bikes and SkiErgs for the Warrington Wolves training facility. The purchase of this equipment has provided a massive step forward in allowing our players to return from injury fitter and faster than ever before. In the small amount of time we have been using this equipment I have witnessed great improvements in return to play fitness levels and time frames of both our academy and first grade players.”
Director of Youth Development John Bastian added: “On behalf of everyone at Warrington Wolves we would like to thank SquadBuilder for their fantastic donation. Their generosity and support throughout many years have aided the growth and development of many of our young junior players and we are very grateful.”
Roy Chicken, chair of Warrington Wolves Supporters’ Trust and SquadBuilder, said: “SquadBuilder are proud to donate funds for the purchasing of the Watt Bikes and SkiErgs for use in the gym at Padgate. Having seen the equipment in use I am sure that it will assist the strength and conditioning team in monitoring the improvement in players’ performance as they recover from injury.”
