Steve Pickersgill to Australia

Steve Pickersgill, one of the Warrington Wolves Squadbuilder sponsored players, has been selected as part of the England U18 squad to tour Australia and New Zealand. Steve was handpicked in Squadbuilder’s maiden year as one of the young Warrington players to hit the big time and he’s fulfilling that promise now.

Steve is part of a 30-strong preparation squad for the tour to Australia and New Zealand between July 26 and August 25.

The squad will be reduced to 23 players who will make the tour that includes Test fixtures against both the Junior Kiwis and the Australian Schoolboys, both of whom were defeated on recent tours of this country.

David Waite, the Rugby Football League’s Performance Director, who will be accompanying the team on their tour, said: “This is an historic and exciting opportunity for the next bunch of players from the production line that is the Junior Academy”.
