The hours and hours of work done by the planning team, the dedication of Claire Milby organising the travel and the vision of Gary Chambers and Rich Marshall all came to fruition in support of our young Homegrown players.
The players were a credit to themselves, their families and the club.
Three competitive matches against South Sydney Rabbitohs , Wests Tigers and New South Wales Rugby League U 17’s and one opposed session against Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs all with special moments but the victory against Wests was outstanding.
It was so good to witness different cultures and to learn so much in a different environment and to reap the benefits of the wonderful hospitality shown by everyone we met.
Penrith Panthers were outstanding hosts as they facilitated the full use of their training facilities for the tour. Their Homegrown player policy shines through in everything they do. Something for the Wire to aspire to.
It was fantastic to meet so many friends and past players while we were away and to meet so many new people too.
Thank you to every one of the tour party for sharing this unique experience.
