Squadbuilder has donated over £230,000 since its inception in 2002 by supporting the Wolves Youth Development team, the Wolves Foundation Community team and Community clubs funding projects for the training and education of players and coaches and the donation of equipment.

Warrington  Wolves want as many home grown players at the club as possible. This is a source of great pride not only for the club and the supporters, but also for the players and coaches, their families and friends, their school and community club.

Squadbuilder is so proud of all fifteen of the current Academy graduates in the Warrington Wolves first team squad for 2023 including long serving players Ben Currie and Joe Philbin who are not only first team regulars but also established international players.  Congratulations to Ben for being awarded a Testimonial year by the RFL in 2023.  Good luck.  It is so good to see the continued progress of Josh Thewlis, Connor Wrench, Riley Dean, Luke Thomas and Tom Whitehead.  Congratulations to the eight players from the 2022 Academy squad who have been promoted : – Jake Thewlis, Jack Darbyshire, Leon Hayes, Aiden Doolan, Josh Lynch, Jamie Reddecliff, Adam Holroyd and Bobby Shingler. The future is bright, the future is primrose and blue under the guidance of Head of Youth Gary Chambers and his support staff.  Good luck to them all in 2023.  It’s so good to see so many Home grown Squadbuilder Academy Graduates coming through the system.

HOW HAS SQUADBUILDER SUPPORTED THE CLUB RECENTLY?

Squadbuilder was instrumental in the addition in June 2021 of the Wire Academy logo on the playing shirts of our first team players who have come through the Academy system.  The special Wire logo is located above the player’s Heritage number.

Squadbuilder hosted an Academy Sponsors launch event in April 2022.  All players secured sponsors for the season.  The event allowed all the players and coaches to be formally introduced to their sponsors and raise funds for Squadbuilder.

In 2022 Squadbuilder hosted two Fan’s Forums at the Halliwell Jones Stadium with representatives of the Scholars, Academy, PDP, Women’s, Physical Disability, Learning Disability and Wheelchair rugby teams.  Each team’s coach and captain were invited to give an update on their team.  Special thanks to Josh Thewlis, Connor Wrench, Jason Clark and Paul Cullen who were special guests at these forums.  The forums illustrated the inclusivity of our sport in the town of which we can be incredibly proud.

In 2022 Squadbuilder supported the Academy Snowdon Charity Challenge team building event and the open water swimming session at Sale.  We also purchased a drone and batteries to assist the coaching analysis of performance during training sessions.  In December Squadbuilder supported the climbing wall challenge held at Warrington Youth Zone.

The success of the 2022 Academy campaign was celebrated at an end of season awards night in October.

Squadbuilder is proud to sponsor the new Academy coach Danny Evans in 2023.  Danny was assistant to Daryl Powell in 2022.  The previous Academy coach Richard Marshall is now promoted to first team assistant coach with special responsibility for defence.  Good luck to both coaches for 2023.

The exciting news is the Academy 2023 Australia Trip in October/November.  Squadbuilder is totally behind this project to support the players and coaches on this fantastic adventure.  This once in a lifetime experience will not only enhance player development but will provide an educational and cultural experience.  The squad will play 3 games including games against the Sydney Roosters and the South Sydney Rabbitohs.  Please support the squad as they raise funds towards this well-deserved trip.

Academy Player of the Year 2022 The winner of the Pauline Nelson Memorial Trophy for the Academy Player of the Year was Jack Darbyshire.
